Post Human VII x Thames Carpets

Cramer St Gallery & CMJZ ARTS are thrilled to announce an upcoming collaboration between contemporary British artist and curator Tobias Ross-Southall and Thames Carpets. Launching this October to coincide with Frieze Art Fair in London. This exciting instalment will feature works by; Hayden Kays, Helen Beard, Sola Olulode, Saman & Sasan Oskouei, Tom Furse, James Massiah, Mays Al Moosawi, Michael McGrath and Tobias Ross-Southall. This collaboration brings contemporary artists into dialogue with the ancient craft of weaving, translating their visions into 100% natural, handwoven, luxury art collectibles. Historically, rugs and tapestries have told stories, marked power and captured cultural shifts. We’re continuing that lineage, using hand woven carpets as a new site for contemporary expression. In today’s art spaces, rugs act as both object and surface; sculptural, political and deeply material. Like digital code, weaving is built on binary logic; warp and weft, over and under, making it a perfect medium to translate today’s visual language. Through Thames Carpets’ historic craft, these works ground post-human themes in material, tradition and time. In a divided world, this project affirms the power of art to unite. Transcending politics and borders and weaving communities together through a shared vision.
Post Human VII is the seventh in a series of global group exhibitions curated by Tobias Ross-Southall.
